 Loons at Sunset
Also taken from a boat on Ebeemee Lake in up-state Maine, these two loons obligingly posed for a photo in the reflection of the setting sun. There was unexpected sunspot activity for the week during that time period, and the darker sunspots could be seen with the naked eye - and on the full-size photos - during this sunset.

This sunrise over Ebeemee Lake turned everything it touched to gold, including the lake, the edge of the shore, and the two kayaks that had been stored for the evening.

It was cold at night on the lake so the warm water made steam or fog during the night which hung over the water, but not the land, in the early morning.
