- Was a level headed woman. She bought extra land to expand the farm when her husband died. Her name is listed as the owner on the 1852 census.
She was called Joany Ryle and also Mom Joany. Her name was Hannah on the children's baptism records. She died after 1873, at Mike McGrath's house. Her coffin plate with 1873 on it is in the Ballykeally cemetary. She is buried there.
