Dan B. Litchfield Sr., 79
SCARBOROUGH -- Dan B. Litchfield Sr., 79, beloved husband of Beatrice C. Litchfield passed away on Jan. 21, 2013, at his home after a courageous battle with his illness.
Dan was born in Lowell, Mass., on Feb. 1, 1933, the son of Paul L. and Doris (Northrup) Litchfield. After receiving a degree from Boston University, Dan started a career in banking. He was then drafted and enlisted in U.S. Army and fulfilled his term of duty. He resumed his working career eventually becoming Vice President in commercial banking at Maine National Bank.
Dan was a member of the Scarborough Rotary Club and a brother of the Gov. William King Lodge AM & FM of Maine.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul Litchfield. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice C. Litchfield; children, Raymond Litchfield and wife Michelle of Fort Worth, Texas, Warren Litchfield and partner Ginny Pemberton of Scarborough, Dan Litchfield, Jr. and wife Theresa of Scarborough, Susan Egert and husband Jim of Keller, Texas, step-daughter Janet Murphy and husband Donald of Sanford, step-daughter Andrea Karass and husband Mark of Scarborough; and a sister, Louise McIntire and husband Gus of Harpswell. He is also missed by his grandchildren, Jesse Litchfield of Virginia, Hayden and Tommy Litchfield of Fort Worth, Texas, Ben Litchfield of Scarborough, Justin Litchfield of Gorham, Andrew Litchfield of Portland, Serena Wilcox of Standish, Scot Litchfield of Waterboro, Eric Litchfield of Ocala, Fla., Travis Blake of Scarborough, Alison Egert of Keller, Texas, and James Egert Jr. of Keller, Texas, Donald Murphy of Scarborough, Paul Murphy of Sanford, and Melissa Karass of Portland; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Dan's life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at the home of Andrea and Mark Karass, 7 Elizabeth Lane, Scarborough. Online condolences may expressed at www.hobbsfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough.
