- From a family history story brought to the Descendants of Julius VOGT Family Party (30 Sept 1995 ) by Brenda (LITCHFIELD) Benson:
Son of Hiram and Angeline (GAUTHIER) LITCHFIELD, was born in Lowell MA 18 Sep 1878. Joseph was a railroad engineer on the B&M Railroad.
He married Isabelle Marie VOGT on November 15, 1903. Isabelle was born November 6, 1881, in New York. Her mother, Isabelle DUPUIS (and all members of her family) were born in the Alsace-Lorraine region of France. She was married to Paul VOGT at the Cathederal of Nortre Dame, in Paris, France.
It was recorded that she carried "black bread" to her favorite older brother, Eduard, when he was a soldier in the Franco-Prussian War. He died while fighting in the Franco-Prussian war, and Isabelle never outgrew her hatred of all Germans , even after coming to America.
She died at the age of 87, in Everett, Mass.
Paul and Isabelle (Dupuis) Vogt had six children: Lucien, Marcel, Isabelle, Paul, Harry, and Matilda.
Joseph and Isabelle (Vogt) Litchfield had eight children: Paul, Isabelle, Lawrence, Leon, Eugene, Francis, Harold, and Matilda.
Joseph and Isabelle are buried in the Hildreth Cemetary, Lowell, Mass. She died July 4, 1926, and he died July 1, 1945
