    • Obituary for Lucy Mitty (HANNUM) TAYLOR. Original newspaper clipping found in with family material held by Gladys Foster TAYLOR and recently in the possession of Marguerite Hannum (TAYLOR) MUNROE.

From the Somerville Journal, 6 February 1897:

      Mrs. Lucy M. Taylor.

Mrs. Lucy M., wife of Arthur 0. Taylor, died at her home on Sycamore street January 29. She. was the daughter of Daniel L. and Mary R. Hannum, and was born in Weston, Vt., October, 1, 1864. She removed to Somerville on her marriage, October 3, 1883.

For some time her health had not been good, and she was greatly affected by the recent death of her mother, on whom, in her last days, she was a devoted attendant.

The end of her life came suddenly, and was a. great shock to a large circle of relatives and friends. She leaves a husband and three children, a father, brother, and sister.

In every relation she was most faithful and affectionate.

She became connected with the Union Square Baptist church soon after its organization, and contributed largely to its success by her untiring efforts. Baptized at the age of eleven years, her life has been one of Christian earnestness and consecration, and her memory and influence will long abide in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. B. C. Merry, the church quartette rendering appropriate music. Many beautiful floral tributes attested to the love and esteem of relatives, the members of the church and ladies' social union, and friends connected with the Youth's Companion.

The interment was at Forest Hills.
