- Letter from Helen Sargent (VOGT) FILLMORE, dated 9 May 1997:
Dear Gene,
I've made a couple of corrections. Please save a book for me.
I've enclosed a picture of my Dad when he was about 18 or 19 years old. If you have a picture of your Dad at that age, you'll see the family resemblance - (they look like their father Lucien). Notice the house - it belonged to Uncle Marcel and Aunt Ida. The lion on the stairs was sculpted by Grandfather Lucien. The mill on the right is where Lucien and Marcel made headstones and other sculptures. When Lucien died, Uncle Marcel ran it alone until Harry Forde married Aunt Matilda and he came into the business. We spent many Thanksgivings and other holidays at that house at Point of Pine Roses.
I've been having trouble with my neck and last week I had an MRI - sorta scary but I have arthritis and spurs on my spine. I'm to see a neurologist in two weeks to see what can be done to relieve the pressure and pain.
Bob and Cathy are interested in coming to the reunion. Would you send them a map?
Internet - CathMFiL (??)
I know Gene and Ann Vogt have a daughter named Lucia. I don't see her name.
Hope to see you on the 8th June.
Grandchildren
Vickie is divorced and she has her maiden and of course Danette. They are not related by blood but they are the only grandchildren I have. But if you want to delete it is all right with me.
Love to Lynn and the girls,
Helen
The girls are Cathy's children by a previous marriage.
