Matilda (Tillie) Litchfield Fox
YORK, Maine - Matilda (Tillie) Litchfield Fox, of 148 Nubble Road, died Nov. 2, 2002, at Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.
Born in Dracut, Mass., on June 26, 1920, she was a daughter of Joseph H. and Isabel (Vogt) Litchfield. She graduated from Dracut High School in 1937 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert T. Fox, on June 27, 1941.
She moved to York in 1966. Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends. When she wasn’t busy at her family summer business, she enjoyed working as a nurse’s aide at York Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bob; her children, Ruthann F. Lichtenwalner and her husband, Aaron W., of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Robert T. Fox Jr. and his wife, Helen G., of Bowdoinham, Jean Fox Johns and her husband, Kenneth H., of York, Steven P. Fox of Hampton, N.H., and Peter L. Fox and his wife, Carol Cook Fox, of York; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The youngest of eight children, she was predeceased by her six brothers and one sister.
FOX - Matilda (Tillie) Fox, of 148 Nubble Road, York, Maine, died Nov. 2, 2002, in Biddeford, Maine. She was a member of the First Parish Church of York, Maine, where a celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002. Burial services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at the New Gibson Cemetery, Pelham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Memorial Fund, First Parish Church, 180 York St., York, ME 03909. Arrangements are by the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, York.
