Dear Gene:
I am the grandson of Matilda Vogt Forde and Harry Edward Forde, and the son of Marie Forde DeRubeis and Victor Emmanuel DeRubeis. I had the delightful experience of meeting Barbara Vogt Clancy on Sunday at the home of Paula Perry Zeppieri and Joseph Zeppierin in Groton, Conn. She appeared at a cookout at the behest of Mary-Jeanne Perry, to whom I understand you extended your hospitality last week. Barbara brought along copies of your book, which I found at once fascinating and a bit overwhelming. I would love to receive a copy, and am more than happy to reimburse your for the cost. Please let me know how to go about this.
Anyway, Barbara reminded me immediately of my Grammie Forde, both in looks and outlook on life. I feel as if I have known her for years, and I guess in some ways I have. I hope we can begin corresponding, and would love to hear from other members of the Vogt clan.
I would also appreciate any tips you can offer when I decide to research the Forde and DeRubeis lineages. Hope to hear from you soon.
