Gene,
Sorry not to have connected in May as originally thought. However with Moms death on May 4th our May schedule became complicated.
We are booked at On The Rocks from this next Sunday the 3rd until August 2. Then booked again August 15 until Sept. 2. Then booked Sept. 17 through Oct. 1. I could see you during this time but have no rooms available. (I did bring to Maine the sculptured hand and napkin ring I wrote about).
Wednesdays are not good to visit as I volunteer at Maine Maritime Museum in Bath on Wed. and am there all day.
When we are not booked we have two rooms each with queen bed and private bath available. (When I say booked, you should know we do not run a B&B but you would think we did). We have guests from all over the US visiting. Had a friend yesterday from Seattle, just for lunch!
I would like to have time to talk and catch up, so that would be crunching things if other guests were here. How about Oct. 10 weekend? Do you get Monday off? We are free at this time after October 1. We will not return to North Carolina until early November.
You are welcome to stay with us while visiting and there are several motels in the area. Three on Bailey Island but none on Orr's. Several places to stay in Brunswick, 12 miles away.
Let me know what you think.
In April, I made my usual Spring trip to South Bend, and brought Tom back to Maine for a one week visit. He has been to this house now twice and once to the house we rented in South Freeport. The fact that he has a change from his usual routine is what is good for him, the Maine mystique escapes him. Of course after 9/11 I do not feel comfortable letting him travel alone so I then return to SB with him (prior to 9/11 he traveled to NC and the first trip to Maine on his own).
I may have mentioned earlier that Larry and Karen and their 17 year old son were going to be here over Mothers Day weekend specifically to visit Karen's mother in Reading on Sunday. It turned into a funeral weekend but it all worked out OK. We had a couple from NC last week for 4 days and that is all the guests so far since our return in early April. This Sunday starts the big push.
Let me know.
John
