  •  Notes
    • Lynn & Gene VOGT spent the weekend of Columbus Day 2005 on Orr's Island ME with John Webster and Kimball Page, visiting and comparing genealogy notes and looking over John's research so far on his Webster line.

Here's the summary of info I found that I didn't have (John had no primary or secondary sources to refer to, all was word of mouth from Helen):

      George Velma NELSON
Born in Newport RI. Died at Tewksbury State Hospital circa 1928/1929 of tuberculosis. Buried in Newport in a numbered headstone (no name). Helen remembered going to TSH to "visit" when she was 3-4 years old and waving to him as he stood at the window. It was an unfulfilled goal of Helen to mark her father's grave with a proper headstone.
      George had three siblings:
      Arthur NELSON (wife: Hilma ?????)
Willie NELSON (not THE Willie Nelson!! ;)
      Florence NELSON

      Arthur NELSON
Arthur was employed at the Newport RI Naval Yard. He and his wife had a daughter Ida who died at age 15, choked on a piece of burnt toast (recounted as a WEBSTER family legend, something Helen used to tell them about whenever they served toast in the house). Supposedly, someone in Hilda's family "had a spare child" that they gave to Arthur and Hilda to replace Ida. Her name was Shirley. John assumes she was eventually adopted by Arthur and Hilda. Helen remembers visiting these folks and "cousin" Shirley in Newport. Shirley may still be alive somewhere in Newport or environs.

David WEBSTER & 2nd wife Lillian's daughter Kelley (married James Robert DAIGLE Jr.) had a 2nd child recently (no other info). First child is James Robert DAIGLE III BD: 20 Dec 2000

Lawrence WEBSTER & wife Karen Ballou (not sure of the spelling) have one son, Lawrence Jr, age 19.

Nancy has 3 children, three different fathers, none were married. She is a dental office manager in Melrose. She lives in Derry NH
Richard Blaine Webster - age 24
      Jessica WEBSTER - age 20
Michael DALTON (father is current on-again - off-again boyfriend Richard DALTON) - age 14

John and David had a falling out about 10 years ago (I didn't probe why but I have a suspicion) and they haven't spoken since. David converted to Catholicism when he married Lillian, is a grand poobah or something at the Andover area K of C. David's first marriage ended in divorce, I think no children.
