Hi Gene,
Mickey's birthday was on February 11th 1919.It is the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes. He would have been 87 on his birthday this year. Indeed he was very much in our thoughts around that date. Mamma's birthday was October 15th 1915 and Auntie Nora was born on 27th November 1922. Last week was the 100th anniversary of my father's birth. There are some photos of Mickey as a young man in Kerry and I will find them and scan them for you.
Do you know that Pats and Kathy are celebrating the birth of their first grandchild? Rory O'Carroll was born on Saturday 3rd. February to Eoin and his wife Eimear. He weighed in at 10lbs! I have only seen pictures of him but he is absolutely beautiful and Pats is totally smitten!
I had an email from Joanne yesterday. Thank she seems to be coping well and is surely taking comfort from the fact that she has only 3 sessions of chemo left.
I managed to get out for a walk between the hail showers today--the weather has taken e sudden turn for the worse and winter is back with a vengeance.
Isnt it wonderful how we have managed the world wide communication--I was staying with a friend in a villa in Portugal last week when I got your message about the great win Ardfert had in Croke Park and wouldn't have heard the news if it weren't for you!
Sorry to hear about Audrey's difficulty. You can only be thankful that it has occoured now and not after they were married, though I'm sure that will not be apparent to her right now.
Lots of love to you and Lynn,
Mary.
