      Subject: Another question....

      Dear Inge,

I have translated as many of the GEDCOM notes as I can, and have merged the data in with my database. I am now going through and checking the data, and I have a question or two.

There was a note for Hermann as follows:
in Bl 1628 seine Witwe Dorothea und ev. Jacob Vogel
in Pl 1635 es stirbt 1 Kind Nr.182 Im
      B?rgerschaftsverzeichnis kein Eintrag.

      which I translated as follows:
In Bl 1628 (Black Plague List of 1628) his widow
Dorothea and ev. Jacob Vogel. In Pl 1635 (Black
Plague List of 1635) 1 child died, No. 182. No entry in the citizenry listing.

First question: Did I translate the note correctly?

Second question: I understand the note to say that Hermann's wife (widow - "Witwe") died from the Black Plague in 1628. Correct?

Third question: If Hermann's wife was a widow in 1628, then Hermann must have died BEFORE 1628, correct?

Fourth question: Is there any connection between Hermann or Dorothea and the "ev. Jacob Vogel" mentioned in the note?

      Thanks so much!

      Gene VOGT

      Lieber Gene !

      3.question:
Hermann Vogt ist vor 1628 gestorben.

      Liebe Grüße aus Lich

      Inge Steul

      Dear Gene!
      The translation is not correct.

In Lich there is the citizen list of 1628. My abbreviation for it is BL 1628. In that list all houses of Lich and their inhabitants are listed.

In Lich there is another citizen listing of 1628. In that list all men are registered, who had to guard the 3 city gates in the kriegsfall.

In Lich there is the plague list. My abbreviation is PL 1635. In that list all persons (and their houses) are registered, who had someone deceased in 1635 by the plague.

      2.question:
No. The widow of Hermann Vogt is alive in 1628 in the house and ev. Jacob Vogel lives also in this house at this time. Whether Jacob Vogel is related to the widow Doroethea, I do not know. The widow of Hermann Vogt died between 1628 and 1635, because she is mentioned no more after 1635. Or perhaps she moved away from Lich and died in another place.

      3.question:
      Hermann Vogt died in 1628.

      Love and greetings from Lich
      Inge Steul
