Dear Gail,
Just a note to let you know that my father passed away early this morning. He has been suffering with pain from arthritis for some time and he has been praying for an end to life for about six months. About 6 months ago we had to put him in diapers and he recently had to start using a Foley catheter. The last 3 weeks we had to feed him because he was unable to feed himself. He has been immobile for several months so he had to be lifted from bed to the wheelchair to the couch, etc, all day. The last 2 weeks he had an incessant cough that lasted all night, every night, but the last 2 nights he was quiet but unresponsive. Then, at 7:40 AM, he coughed twice and we went in his room to see him and he was gone. So far Mom does not realize that he is gone. God only knows what will happen next and how she will take it if she ever realizes that he is gone. Hope that everyone is fine. Love, Jan and Bruce
