Memorial service for Dr. Spencer C. Taylor, 95, Palm Coast, who died Jan. 15, 2008, at his home, will be held Thursday, January 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Palm Coast United Methodist Church, 5200 Belle Terre Pkwy., Palm Coast. Mr. Taylor was born in Jaffry, N.H., and moved to this area in 1979 from Lexington, Mass. He graduated from Tufts University College of Dentistry. He was a retired dentist who served in the U.S. Army as Captain of the Dental Corps in Okinawa during World War II. He was a former church deacon and member of Palm Coast United Methodist Church and member of the choir. He was predeceased by his sister, Marqurite Munroe. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen Brita Taylor; sons, Bruce Taylor, Palm Coast, and Emil Johnson, Arlington, Mass.; daughters, Marilyn Shumway, East Greenbush, N.Y., Martha McConnell, Lexington, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
